Back of an Envelope: The Spring, Havant

A cool art and creative writing workshop inspired by the exhibition: Edgeland Modern: Back of an Envelope – read more here.

What do you write on the back of envelopes? Shopping lists? Doodles? Random thoughts? Poems? Join Edgeland Modern artists to write, draw, paste, and paint over envelopes.

The workshop will focus on a combination of drawing, painting, words and collage on used envelopes: singly or collectively, brown or manilla, card or paper. No experience necessary – just come along and have some fun throwing shapes and words around.

You can arrive with an idea of an unsent letter, creative scraps, and your sketchbook and notebook, or find inspiration from the Edgeland Modern exhibition in the Sadler Gallery.

Materials will be provided –  including envelopes and art materials such as graphite and colour pencils, felt tips, marker pens, water-colour tablets, a few snippets of collage and found text photos from newspapers.

Free, but please book in advance.

Suitable for adults and children aged 7+ accompanied by an adult.
